Thai Coleslaw recipe

This coleslaw is a brilliant dish to take to family parties or BBQs. It's full of Thai flavour but is really easy to throw together. Serve it with cold cuts of meat or other salads as a simple lunch.

  • 1/2 head white cabbage
  • 1/2 head red cabbage
  • 2 carrots
  • 75g peanuts
  • 4 tbsp. lime juice
  • 4 tbsp. rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. runny honey
  • 1 tbsp. fish sauce
  • Salt and pepper

  1. Shred the white cabbage and red cabbage. Grate the carrots.

  2. Put the vegetables into a bowl and cover with the lime juice, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, honey and fish sauce. Season well and stir thoroughly.

  3. Put into the fridge until ready to serve, and when you serve, stir in the peanuts.

Don't prepare this too far in advance as the vegetables could get a little soggy instead of being nice and crisp. This recipe serves four.
